Monaco, September 26, 2011 – The fourth edition of the biennial Only Watch Charity Auction in Monaco on September 23, closed with an outstanding result of EUR 4’563’000 – funds raised to support research on Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy.  H.S.H. Prince Albert II of Monaco, Luc Pettavino, President of the Association Monégasque contre les Myopathies and Founder of Only Watch, Ronnie Woods, Rolling Stones, Pierre Koukjian, deLaCour’s Chief Designer, amongst other high profile guests were part of the audience to support this auction.

MONACO, MAY 27 – On Saturday, May 27th, Prince Albert, Pierre Frolla, Andrea Casiraghi, Pierre Casiraghi, Joel Bouzou (President and Founder – Peace & Sport) and Pierre Koukjian (Chief Designer, deLaCour) attended the “Peace & Sport” – Operation Poseidon in Monaco.

At 12:10, in the depths of the Principality of Monaco, Pierre Frolla, multi-record-holder in free diving, holding 4 world records, 2 world titles and who has done more than 100 dives dove more than 100m to retrieve the official chequered flag of the 69th Formula 1 Grand Prix de Monaco.

The flag was signed by some of the greatest athletes in the world during the Monaco Tennis Open 2011, including Sébastien Loeb and Daniel Elena, as well as H.S.H. Prince Albert II, Pierre Frolla and Princess Caroline of Monaco’s son, Pierre Casiraghi. All the racing drivers competing in the race also signed the flag.

The items auctioned include the official chequered flag, deLaCour’s Diver Timepiece “The Reef Saver”, Pierre Frolla’s wetsuit and jewellery by WK Monaco. The proceeds will go to “Peace and Sport, l’Organisation pour la Paix par le Sport” and the money raised will be used to implement projects for peace promotion through sport in the countries where Peace and Sport intervene.

deLaCour open Chocrón Boutique

On April 6th, deLaCour chose Chocrón Boutique as the venue to introduce to the Spanish press their unique collections of timepieces exclusively designed by Chief Designer, Pierre Koukjian.

Editors from the most prestigious media in Spain attended the event and where able to admire an extraordinary selection of pieces, such as the City Collection, Bichrono Line, Promess Collection and Saqra Collection. Other timepieces where introduced, such as their limited edition jewelry timepieces, major complications such as the award winning Birepetition and their National Premier, the Mourinho City Ego Collection in which José Mourinho, Real Madrid’s head coach and winner of the Ballon D’Or 2011, is the Brand Ambassador and inspiration to this creation

The news echoed through many media channels, from print to digital to television and radio stations, emphasizing the affinity between the strength and innovation of their timepieces and the courageous character of their Ambassador.

On Thursday, March 17th, the The Red Cross held their Annual Gala at the Bâtiment des Forces Motrices in Geneva, Switzerland.

Hosting over 400 guests, the event commenced with the runway show of Dior presenting their autumn-winter 2011 Couture collection.

deLaCour was proud to participate on it’s second year consecutively with The Red Cross. deLaCour donated a Bichrono S2 Astroceramic for the night’s auction.

What makes this timepiece unique, aside from its two time zones and dual chronograph movement, is the Astroceramic coating on the case. Astroceramic is a special ceramic used on the shields of Nasa Spaceships to protect the craft and its instruments from the intense heat and radiation of the sun. It is anti-allergenic and anti-bacterial. The Bichrono S2 Astroceramic is a unique piece, rare in it’s collection, made specifically for this special occasion.

The auction was conducted by Erick Valdieu (Christies) and auctioned for the amount of 29,000 CHF for the benefit of the Red Cross of Geneva. This sum will be attributed to programs in favor of the elderly in precarious situation and suffering from loneliness.

At the end of the ceremony, Pierre Koukjian presented Alexia Barrier a timepiece of his latest collections “The Reef Saver”; the first diver timepiece derived from deLaCour’s Promess Collection. As a shared commonality, the Reef Saver from deLaCour’s Promess Collection, is a dedication to those who vow to make a change, such as Alexia Barrier.

In 2012, Alexia will sail on a boat that will be completely ecological and equipped with new technologies including an electric motor, a fuel cell, solar panels, hydrogenerators and wind turbines. This ecological prototype will also enable date from the air and water surface to be collected.
