Alexia Barrier (Professional Sailor) wearing a Reef Saver by deLaCour

On Friday, April 1st, Alexia Barrier’s sailboat, Figaro “111 4ever” 4myplanet, was baptised and blessed at the port of the Principality of Monaco.

Alexia Barrier, professional sailor, and promoter of the “green concept”, has chosen deLaCour as Official Sponsor of her 2011/2012 tours. Alexia will embark on this adventure sailing on Figaro “111 4ever” 4myplanet.

Alexia Barrier’s sailboat was named in the presence of sailboat owner Jean-Michel Bayle (Moto-Cross world champion), sailboat godfather Pierre Froll and deLaCour, as Tour Sponsor, represented by Pierre Koukjian (Chief Designer of deLaCour).

At the end of the ceremony, Pierre Koukjian presented Alexia Barrier a timepiece of his latest collections “The Reef Saver”; the first diver timepiece derived from deLaCour’s Promess Collection. As a shared commonality, the Reef Saver from deLaCour’s Promess Collection, is a dedication to those who vow to make a change, such as Alexia Barrier.

In 2012, Alexia will sail on a boat that will be completely ecological and equipped with new technologies including an electric motor, a fuel cell, solar panels, hydrogenerators and wind turbines. This ecological prototype will also enable date from the air and water surface to be collected. This adventure is part of a global concept christened 4MyPlanet that will notably include the Route du Rhum and Vendée Globe 2012.

Alexia will wear her timepiece during her regattas planned in 2011; The Figaro (solo tour), The Generaly (solo tour) and Laurient-Saint Barth (coupled tour) as well as her 2012 Vendée Globe.
